In my last post I mentioned having three areas of interest. I also make handwritten greeting cards using calligraphy and a variety of scrapbooking embellishments. I will add personal photographs and whatever you would like to say to the recipient of the card, (in other words, custom cards). I also have predesigned cards. The most popular are birthday and Thank you cards. I will be adding photographs of the cards later. If you are interested in having very personal greeting cards made please contact me at msdeebeedesigns@gmail.com.
My third area of interest is making shrugs with patches of denim and leather or just denim. The shrugs are hand sewn and contain a lining. I got the idea for the shrugs from my eldest daughter who requested I make her one to wear during her college homecoming. When her sister saw it she wanted one, and every time she wears her's someone requests one. I normally don't communicate much concerning the shrugs because they take about two weeks to make, however, I decided to just explain that in advance and share information concerning the shrugs with interested parties. If you are interested in a handmade shrug use the contact information above.
So now you know what my talents are. How about you share some of yours. Please feel free to respond to this blog with information about what you do. I don't mind sharing the spotlight.

On The Journey
I've created MsDeeBeeDesigns2 to allow readers to travel this experience of creating a brand along with me. I have been learning so much about creating a brand, mostly that it takes a lot of time when you don't have a lot of money. I am a doting grandmother of 2 little boys ages 8 and 3. I babysit a lot because I live with my daughter and son-in-law. It is sometimes difficult to alot the time needed to get what I need to do, done. However, because I have choosen to make MsDeeBeeDesigns my lifes work I have to find a way to get things done.
When I started blogging I had no idea what I was doing. I'm still struggling with this with a copy of Google Blogger for Dummies in my lap. I'm kinda getting the hang of it, but there's a lot I still don't quite understand. I find the templates exceedingly challenging. I want my blog to look really good like some of the blogs I see when I look at other peoples blogs, but I haven't achieved that yet. I'm still working on it though. I'm not gonna let this thing beat me. I always hear that older people have no knowledge of computers. That's not completely true of me, but I don't have any real formal training. My computer training has been a do or die kind of training, I'm sure some of you know exactly what I'm speaking of.
This blog however was not created to share my computer challenges. It was created to share my small business challenges. Perhaps some of you would like to create a small business using whatever GOD given talents you have. Let us go along on this journey together.
Let me begin by telling you what it is that I do. I actually am exploring three different areas. I make jewelry. I create handmade designs and I am now attempting to sell my craft on Etsy. My shop can be found at www.etsy.com/shop/msdeebeedesigns. Because my small business is basically an online store, I have delved into several options of social networking. I have a facebook page, www.facebook.com/msdeebeedesigns.1, a twitter page at @msdeebeedesigns, a myspace page at myspace.com/msdeebeedesigns, I am on pinterest, trumblr, stumble upon, Manta, LinkedIn,Branchout, and of course www.msdeebeedesigns.blogspot.com.
I spend a lot of time interacting with other etsians who are members of the various teams I belong to on Etsy, and I write a short blog on a friends' site, Sepia Prime Woman.
I presently have 59 items in my Etsy store and will create a new piece every month so as not to become boring to the people who view my site, I have a domain name and website with godaddy.com, www.MsDeeBeeDesigns.com and my major business email address is admin@msdeebeedesigns.com. I also maintain email addresses here at google, yahoo, and hotmail.
I have jewelry in 2 small boutiques in the Lincoln Mall in Matteson Il. and when I get knoOpulence F.A. and when I get knowledge of them in time I attend craft shows (as a vendor). So between my grandsons and MsDeeBeeDesigns I keep myself pretty busy.
I created MsDeeBeeDesigns in December of 2010 after teaching myself to make jewelry with a little help from various tutorials. By the grace of GOD my self learning jewelry designing is going a lot better then my self learning computer skills.:)
